1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Barney St Mary |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Barney lies in the northern part of central
Norfolk. The village is approximately four miles north-east of the market
town of Fakenham and lies just south of the A148 road which links Fakenham
to Holt & Cromer. The village is compact but linear being aligned
as a string of cottages and houses along a north-south trending lane.
Barney is on a small eminance above the head-waters of the Stiffkey River
which heads from their to Norfolk's northern coast. |

A single standard 800-entry register book covers the period of the transcript and continues up to 1900. This register was deposited a long time ago and is filmed on microfiche 5 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. The fiche is rather elderly and of poor quality, the original register, however, must be in a very reasonable condition as despite the faint images with poor contrast this was a relatively straightforward trancript to prepare. Subject to the usual caveats regarding quality of handwriting it is hope few errors will have crept in. |
