Baptisms 1813 to 1880
Bexwell parish lies in West Norfolk, just to the east
of Downham Market. This is a small parish gathered around Bexwell Hall.
The parish lies on the main A1122 between Downham Market and Swaffham.
The parish was only ever lightly populated mostly with workers at the
Hall. A population in 1831 of barely 50 souls is indicative that this
is a quiet backwater of Norfolk. |

During 2016 Bexwell parish finally deposited its Baptismal register covering the period of this transcript. As a result the original transcript which was compiled from the incomplete Bishop's Transcripts has been replaced by one rperpared from the newly deposited register. This register is filmed on Microfilm MFRO787 in the collection of Norfolk Record Office. This recent film is of excellent quality achievable today as a result this was a straightforward piece to prepare.. |
