1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Brinton St Andrew |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Brinton lies in northern Norfolk just south-west
of the market town of Holt and just north of the B1110 which links Holt
with East Dereham. The village is a small collection of farms and cottages
grouped around Brinton Hall and church in the lanes which wind through
this surprisingly undulating (for Norfolk) area. The parish is set in
the valley of a tributory of the River Glaven which cuts down through
soft glacial deposits to form a deep valley. |

The register which covers the period of the project has yet to be deposited at the Norfolk Record Office. As a consequence the Bishop's Transcripts have had to be used to produce this transcript. Unfortunately two years are missing from the BTs and as a result this transcript is missing 12 entries. It is normal to state that the quality of Bishop's Transcripts is wanting, however on this occasion the quality is perfectly adequate to read the majority of the entries and as a result this was a straightforward transcript to be produced. Should the register be deposited in the future the transcript will, of course, be re-checked and completed. |
