1813 to 1880 Baptism Project New Buckenham St Martin |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
New Buckenham parish lies in south Norfolk - south-west
of Norwich and midway between Attleborough & Diss. The term "New"
is relative as the village was a planned Norman settlement largely built
in the mid-twelth century to serve the castle. In common with this urban
planning the village streets form a regular grid-pattern, an unusual feature
for Norfolk. |

The register to 1851 which forms the bulk of this transcript is a relatively recent deposit and is filmed on Microfilm MF1692 of the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. This is an excellent exampleof more recent filming standards and a clear and contrasting image was maintained throughout. The transcript has been modified from the original Bishop's Transcript entries following the deposit of the second register and its filming on Microfilm MF/RO708. This film is also clear and contrasty with excellent images. Where corrections were required to existing entries these have also been corrected from this register - as well as the missing years being added. |
