Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Burgh is, as it's name suggests,
next to Aylsham, the small market town in north-eastern Norfolk.
In common with many "daughter" settlements it is a smaller place
across the river, in this case the River \Bure, to the
south-east of its bigger twin. The population of Burgh has
always been dwarfed by its bigger neighbour and nowadays it acts
as dormitory for residents away from the market town. |

These records were transcribed from Microfilm MF699 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. The filming is not recent and reflects standards of its time but in the most the images were clear and contrasting. The transcription was therefore relatively straight-forward but carries the usual caveats regarding the hand-writing of the incumbants. It is to be hope few errors have crept into the transcript. |
