1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Buxton Workhouse |
Births 1837 to 1880
Buxton Workhouse, or House
of Industry, was instigated by the Aylsham Union to support the parish
poor of a wide area covering largely the hundred of South Erpingham. The
workhouse was erected in 1800 but surviving records only commence in 1837.
Whilst this is essentially a birth register, most of the children were
actually baptised at the Workhouse as well. |
