1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Bylaugh St Mary |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Bylaugh lies in Central Norfolk to the north-west
of Norwich and adjacent to the River Wensum. The centre of the parish,
for there is no village as such, is about two miles south of the A1067
Norwich to Fakenham road at Bawdeswell. The estate of Bylaugh Hall is
the focal point for the parish which was undoubtedly a closed parish as
a result. |

The parish was never very populated and this is reflected in the register which covers from 1813 to 2006. This very recent acquisition is newly filmed on Microfilm MFRO710 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. This modern film is of excellent clarity reflecting current filming techniques. Given the infrequent entries a variety of clerks have contributed not all of perfect hand. It is to be hoped, however, that few errors will have crept into the preparation of this transcript. |
