Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Colby lies in north-eastern Norfolk in a
large expanse of arable land. The parish is north-west of the market town
of North Walsham and lies east of the A140 road connecting Norwich to
Cromer. The village is just a straggle of cottages and farmhouses along
a back lane with few village amenities remaining. |

The register from which this transcript is produced was filmed on Microfilm MF965 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. Whilst this is not a recent filming the quality is quite good with clear and contrasting images throughout. Whilst there is the usual caveat as to the standard of handwriting of some of the incumbents on the whole this was a straightforward transcript to prepare and it is hoped that few errors will have crept into its production. |
