1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Congham St Andrew |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Congham sits in west Norfolk, about 6 miles
north-east of the port of King's Lynn. The village, a small settlement,
is south of the A148 which links King's Lynn to Fakenham and west of the
B1153 which links that road to the A47. Congham is little more than a
small group of houses along an west-west running lane with a cluster about
a half miles west of the B1153, the parish is much more extensive, a long
linear strip parish which runs from the lowlands to the east of the Wash
right up to the heights of the heaths bordering the Peddar's Way. |

A single standard 800-entry register book covers the period of this transcript and indeed extends beyond the completion until 1911. This register is rather curiously filmed as two separate parts yet the numbering is consistent with a single register. The book is filmed on Microfilms MF741 & MF742 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. Whilst this film is a little elderly the quality is for the most part satisfactory and as such this was a straightforward transcript to prepare. It is to be hoped few errors will have crept into its production. |
