Baptisms 1813 to 1880
Docking is a substantial village in north-western
Norfolk, a focal point for services in much of the area and a
meeting place for most of the various roads in that corner of
Norfolk. The village is centred around three roads leading east,
west and north from the church, the south side of the village is
dominated by the enclosures of Docking Hall. |

These records were transcribed from 4
separate registers - 1 book of 1600 entries followed by 3 books of
800, the last only commencing in 1880. These registers are filmed
on Microfilm MF739 continuing onto MF740 in the collection of the
Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. The filming is variable but generally of a good standard, although some entries are faded; across such a large transcript the number of clerics' hands is obviously large and some were erratic in their script. Every effort has been made to make an accurate transcript and it is to be hoped few errors will have crept in to its construction. |
