1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Ellingham St Mary |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Ellingham lies in Southern Norfolk in the
valley of the River Waveney and on the border with Suffolk. Ellingham
is roughly midway between the Suffolk market towns of Bungay and Beccles
but on the north bank of the river. The village once bisected by the busy
A143 road has now been bypassed and is much quieter for it. There is a
notable centre to the village on slightly raised ground out of the flood
plain but still only 4 metres above sea level. |

A single standard register book covers the period of the transcript and continues to 1884. This register is filmed on Microfilm MF739 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. The images are of an adequate standard despite the relatively elderly film and as a result this was a straightforward transcript to prepare. It is to be hoped few errors will have crept into its construction. |
