1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Fakenham United Methodist |
Baptisms 1863 to 1880
The United Methodist congregation in Fakenham was licensed in 1773 when founded from the Briston circuit, for many years it became associated with the Wells & Walsingham circuits before becoming its own circuit in 1892. The congregation held services at their chapel in White Horse Street until it was destroyed by enemy bombing in 1940. This short register which covers the years from 1863 and finishes immediately after the transcription period in 1881 is the only surviving baptismal register during the transcription period. This register is filmed on Microfilm MF1778 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office which was used to prepare this transcript. This film is own of the more recent batch and is of a good quality with clear, crisp images. The handwriting is mostly acceptable and as such this was a straightforward transcript to prepare. |
