Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Fersfield sits in southern Norfolk, about
4 miles northwest of the market town of Diss. Fersfield is not a distinct
village as such but a collection of farms and cottages spread along a
broad lane which runs north from the A1066 at South Lopham. Fersfield
is sited at about 40 metres above sea level and is on rich agricultural
land to the north of the Waveney flood plain. |

A single standard 800-entry register covers the period of the transcript and indeed continues well into the 20th century. The register is filmed on Microfilm MFRO457 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. The film is a modern one of good quality and with clear and sharp images was a straightforward read. As a result this was a simple piece of transcription with only handwriting to worry about. It is hoped few errors will have crept in. |
