1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Framingham Pigot St Andrew |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Framingham Pigot lies south-east of the
city of Norwich some five miles away from the city. The parish is south
of the A146 road which joins Norwich to Beccles and Lowestoft. Even today
the parish is dominated by the grounds of the local manor, at the date
of this transcript Framingham Pigot was very much an estate village with
a closed community largely working on land belonging to the lord of the
manor. Nowadays it is a prosperous commuter settlement with most folk
working in the nearby city. |

The records which form the basis of this transcript were filmed on Microfilm MF594 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. Whilst this is not a recent filming the images of an acceptable quality. The handwriting is variable, as ever and the usual caveats regarding misread entries applies. However this was in the main a relatively straightforward transcript and it is hoped not too many errors have crept in to its compilation. |
