1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Fring All Saints |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Fring lies in northwestern Norfolk about
5 miles east of Norfolk's Wash coast and 7 miles southeast of the seaside
resort of Hunstanton. Fring is sited in Norfolk's thin band of chalk,
a landscape crossed immediately west of Fring by the ancient trackway
of Peddar's Way. The low downland of this area is etched by the deep valley
of the Heacham River and Fring village sits in the bottom of that valley
with higher ground surrounding. Fring is not a substantial village although
it is compact with most housing lying along the Docking to Dersingham
lane or those which cross it. |

A single standard 800-entry register covers not only the period of the transcript but extends onwards into the early 21st century. As a consequence of this recent deposition the register has only recently been filmed, on Microfilm MFRO704 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office which was used to prepare this transcript. This film, being recent, is of a very good quality with crisp and contrasting images, a benefit of modern filming techniques. As a consequence this was a straightforward transcript to prepare and it is to be hoped that few errors will have been introduced. |
