Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Ketteringham lies south-west of the
city of Norwich just off the busy A11 to London to its south.
Ketteringham was a closed parish with the church and parish
dominated by the estate of Ketteringham Hall. The parish has no
village centre, as such, being merely a collection of farms and
cottages and the buildings of the Hall complex. Most of the
inhabitants today live on or about the back lane from
Cringleford (a suburb of Norwich) to Wymondham. |

A single standard 800-entry register book covers the period of the transcript and indeed runs onwards into the twentieth century. This book is filmed on Microfiche No 3 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. The fiche is an elderly filming and shows its age. Thankfully the quality of the preservation of the register permits acceptable viewing despite the deficiencies of the images. As a consequence this was a straightforward transcript to prepare and it is to be hoped few errors have crept into its production. |
