Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Langley lies in south-eastern Norfolk to
the north-west of the market town of Loddon. The parish is unusual in
having no real centre which is caused by the church being an "estate"
church serving the country house of Langley Park, nowadays a school. What
population resides in the parish mainly lives in a series of cottages
along the Yare valley flood plain at Langley Green & Langley Street
and a scatter of farmhouses. |

The register from which this transcript has been prepared has only recently been deposited with the Norfolk Record Office and has been filmed on Microfilm MF1705. This recent filming is of excellent quality with clear and contrasty images throughout. The register, too, is of reasonable quality and as a result this was a fairly straightforward transcript to prepare. It is to be hoped few errors will have crept into its completion. |
