1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Larling St Ethelbert |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Larling lies in South Norfolk, on the line
of the busy A11 road which links Norwich to London and about halfway between
the market towns of Attleborough & Thetford. There is no distinct
village centre to the parish, merely scattered farms and cottages either
side of the busy road with some concentration along the B1111 which runs
from East Harling towards Watton. The parish lies at the crossing of the
A11 and the infant River Thet in an area where the richer soils of central
Norfolk give way to the sands of the Breckland. |

A single standard 800-entry register covers the period of the transcript and indeed continues up until 1986, indicative of the lightly populated nature of the parish. This register book is filmed on Microfiche 7 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. The fiche is rather elderly and has the trying images characteristic of that vintage of filming. However, in all cases an acceptable image was obtained and this was a straightforward transcript to prepare. It is to be hoped few errors will have crept into its production. |
