1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Mundford St Leonard |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Mundford lies in southwestern Norfolk, the
village sits at the junction of the A134 from Thetford to King's Lynn
with the A1065 which links Swaffham with Brandon in Suffolk. The village
is on the south bank of the River Wissey and is surrounded by the Norfolk
Breckland. Nowadays these dry sandy areas are covered in forestry plantations
but formerly they would have been extensive open areas dominated by sheep
runs and warrens. The village is compact with all the housing and amenities
clustered close by the church. |

A single standard 800-entry register book covers the period of this transcript and extends on for a further 3 years to 1883. This register is filmed on microfiche 6 & 7 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. The fiche are rather elderly and the images are not of the standard achievable today, however the register was clearly well-preserved as satisfactory images were available and as a result this was a straightforward transcript to prepare. It is to be hoped that few errors will have crept into its production. |
