The Rehoboth Baptist chapel was actually outside the mediaeval
city of Norwich in the parish of Heigham. The sect occupied what is now
the anglican church of Holy Trinity in Trinity St just to the south of
the Unthank road.
The only records deposited by the Rehoboth Baptists are those surrendered
to The National Archives in 1837 with the commencement of Civil Registration.
This book is a mixture of records, a naming section covering 1826 to 1834,
a standard birth book covering the 1834 to 1837 period and the book closes
with the birth dates of the family of William Finch Waller who, one assumes
was the respective minister. These records were transcribed from microfilm
MF1149 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. This film, a copy
of the TNA film, is of poor clarity and very difficult to read in places.
Every effort has been made to accurately transcribe these records but
due to the poor quality of the images no guarantees are made on this occasion.
The records are numbered as written in the book but sorted for the purposes
of this transcript into birth date sequence, the only complete date on
every record.
