This Methodist chapel stood on the corner of Belvoir Street with Stafford Street in the parish of Heigham, the church ceased its role in 1980 and the site has since been cleared and replaced with modern housing. The sect was founded as a result of expulsions from the greater Methodist body in 1849, it took some 20 years for the chapel to become established in Norwich, at later times the sect merged into the United Methodist Free Church Movement. Registers for the Belvoir Street chapel cover the period through to 1890 then break for 47 years resuming in 1937 and running to closure. The first of these registers is filmed on Microfilm MF1728 in the collection of Norfolk Record Office which was used to prepare this transcript. The film is one of the more recent and benefits from crisp and sharp images as a result making for a straightforward piece to prepare.
