Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Runcton Holme sits in western Norfolk in
the valley of the River Great Ouse roughly three miles north of Downham
Market and west of the A10 road which connects Downham Market with King's
Lynn. The parish and village is built just on the edge of the flood plain
as the land begins to rise to the east of the Fens. The village centre
is at a prominent crossroads of two lanes. |

Two standard 800-entry register books cover the period of the transcript. Both are filmed on Microfilm MF1686 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. The film is a recent one and has all the benefits of modern technology with clear and crisp images showing good contrast. Subject to the usual caveats regarding handwriting this was, however, a rather straightforward transcript to prepare and it is to be hoped that few errors have crept into its production. |
