Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Sedgeford lies in the far north-western
corner of Norfolk, close to the Wash Coast. The parish is on the B1454
which connects the small market town of Docking with the coastal settlement
of Heacham. The village lies on the northern bank of the Heacham River
which has cut a deep (for Norfolk) valley into the chalky landscape. Close
by to Sedgeford on the eastern outskirts of the village lies the Peddars
Way, an ancient track way now a long distance trail. |

The period covered by this transcript is represented by 2 registers deposited which are filmed on Microfiche 6 to 8 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. These fiche are relatively elderly in their filming and this is reflected in the quality of image which lacks clarity and is "soft". Despite this the original registers must have been in a fine state of preservation as the images are generally quite acceptable. This was a straightforward transcript to prepare and it is to be hoped few errors will have crept into its compilation. |
