1813 to 1880 Baptism Project Thurlton All Saints |
Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Thurlton (not to be confused with nearby
Thurton) lies in south eastern Norfolk. In a remote part of southeastern
Norfolk that projects into adjacent Suffolk and approximately 4 miles
east of the small market town of Loddon, Thurlton village is situated
right on the edge of the flood plain of the Yare and Waveney valleys.
The village keeps its feet dry on a ridge of slightly higher land but
has extensive tracts of grazing marsh as a resource. |

A single standard 800-entry register covers the period of the project and indeed continues on to finish in 1900. This register is filmed on Microfilm MF1700 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office and from which this transcript was prepared. This film is part of a recent re-filming of the registers for this area of Norfolk and is a considerable improvement over prior films. The images are clear and contrasting making for a straightforward transcript to prepare. It is hoped few errors will have crept into the production of this transcript. |
