Baptisms 1813 to 1880
The parish of Wellingham lies in central Norfolk to the
south-west of the market town of Fakenham roughly midway between there
and Castle Acre. The tight huddle of houses sits just east of the A1065
which runs from Fakenham to Swaffham. The village is small and compact
sitting around a junction of three lanes amidst wide open fields. This
is a sparsely populated agricultural district. |

The baptisms for the transcript period are covered by a single register, a reflection of the small population. This register is filmed on Microfiche 3 in the collection of the Norfolk Record Office. Whilst the fiche is old the state of preservation of the original register is clearly good and faded but readable images have resulted. This was a straightforward transcript to prepare and it is to be hoped few errors have crept into its compilation |
